Evolution of Smooth Lip Balms (EOS) are all the rage because of the fun packaging and flavors but there have been many reports that they are causing rashes and blisters around the lips and there has been a class action law suit against the manufacturer.
The suit claims that users ended up with pustules, cracking, redness and bleeding. The plaintiff’s lawyers have produced doctor’s reports indicating that the symptoms were a result of allergic reactions to ingredients in EOS lip balm. When the product use was ended, the symptoms disappeared. At the time of use there were no warning labels on the product.
The suit was settled out of court and the manufacturer has agreed to include an allergy warning label. They stand behind the product and have shown that it was tested by dermatologists and outside labs and found to be safe.
EOS has settled the suit out of court and confirmed that their products are made following the industry's quality standards and tested for safety in independent labs and by dermatologist. They also announced that they would start placing warnings on their packaging about the potential for an allergic reaction. The manufacturer has also shown that all ingredients are natural and organic. But this does not negate the possibility of an allergic reaction.
If you are allergic to any of the following ingredients it is recommended that you not use this product:
• Olive Fruit
• Vitamin E
• Coconut Oil
• Jojoba Seed Oil
• Natural Flavor Aroma
• Shea Butter
• Sunflower Seed Oil
