Is skin care killing you?

Around 88% of ingredients in skin care products have not been examined by private or government entities to see if they are harmful. When you think about how many skin care and beauty products are applied daily to your skin, it’s a bit scary. The average woman applies 8 to 10 of these products on a daily basis; moisturizers, sprays, perfumes, cosmetics, sun screen. All told, there are more than 125 chemicals being applied to you daily, most of them untested.

Fear and courage

FEAR - photo by Susan Daniels - IStock

Fear is a vibrational energy. Fear is an organic, natural energy that is shared by all animals, unlike guilt and shame, which are not natural. When animals experience fear they feel it and shake it off, literally, and move on. We refuse to feel it and it accumulates, causing density. Then we prove to ourselves that the world is an unsafe place. We keep it locked in place to protect us, but then it keeps us locked in place. Fear limits and restricts us. We stay in unsatisfying relationships, unsatisfying jobs, invalidating the universal principle of more. We play life safe. We hold onto our limitations.

Ivanka says her father supports women contrary to the facts

attractive-1867127_1280

OP-ED: Donald Trump’s budget proposals completely end funding for women’s rights by defunding the Office of Global Women’s Issues in the State Department. The department’s funding would go from over $8,000,000 to zero. Both the President and his daughter Ivanka have repeatedly said that he supports women’s issues and would continue to support them. Certainly his actions do not follow his words.

Why organic clothes matter as much as organic food

organicclothes

The average U.S. household spend 3.8% of their income on clothes, which comes out to just about $2,000. While U.S. consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of organic food we seem to not be aware, or care about, what we wear. We see a direct correlation to putting toxic chemicals directly into our system through the food we eat but we do not see the harm in non-organic clothes. There is literally no organic, fair trade, non-gmo clothing in major department stores.

Waste

trash

Most people in the West have risen above survival mode and have joined a consumer driven society. We have so much now that we no longer hold the respect and regard for things- not like when they were scarce. I love old homes and always find that the closets are very small with barely enough space for a third of my clothes and jackets. Only 70 years ago people only had one or two jackets. I just counted and I have 8 jackets. I also have 9 pairs of shoes and probably that many pairs of jeans.

Trump and his FDA choice

fda

When Mr. Trump took office one of his first acts was to fire administrators from the Obama White House, federal prosecutors, ambassadors, department heads and assistants. Hundreds of federal jobs remain without staff and even without someone nominated to fill the job. What is getting little press is the state of the health system and leadership.

The strongest motivation we possess is the desire to be happy. This is really the desire to experience our authentic Self as peace and fulfillment. Bed Bugs are lurking close by

bedbigs

Bed bugs live on blood. They reproduce new generations 4 times a year and are small enough to go undetected on the bottom of your mattress, or that mattress in your best hotel. They are fast and voracious. Bed bugs travel on clothes, luggage, used mattresses and box springs. They will spread beyond that if not checked. They come out at night, while you’re sleeping and gorge themselves on your blood by feeding 4 to 10 minutes at a time.

Decimation from Acid Rain

forestdie

Around the world, whole forest have been wiped out by acid rain. When the nitric and sulfuric acids in human produced air pollution mix with rain, snow, sleet or fog they are carried abroad and rain down on plants and animals below, causing severe damage to the eco-systems they land upon. Coal burning power plants, factories and automobiles are the main contributors. In rare instances volcanos or rotting vegetation can produce acid rain.
