Graham Hancock is a British philosopher and writer who delves into the mysticism and understandings contained in ancient civilizations, legends and myths, plant based consciousness altering drugs and astrology & astronomy. He believes that all civilization arose from one mother culture.
He discusses the expanding effects of his meeting with Amazonian shamans and taking the drug ayahuasca. He believes this and similar drugs were a large part of the expansion of understanding of parallel realities and major cultural and consciousness leaps experienced by humans over that past 30,000 to 40,000 years.
Graham believes in the Orion Correlation Theory. He says, “...we have demonstrated with a substantial body of evidence that the pattern of stars that is "frozen" on the ground at Giza in the form of the three pyramids and the Sphinx represents the disposition of the constellations of Orion and Leo as they looked at the moment of sunrise on the spring equinox during the astronomical "Age of Leo" (Like all precessional ages this was a 2,160-year period. It is generally calculated to have fallen between the Gregorian calendar dates of 10,970 and 8810 BC).”
He espouses Gnosticism. Gnosis means “knowledge of the Divine”. It is an all-encompassing knowledge that contains all the forces in nature, the cosmos and the psyche. Within us, our sacred mind can be open to both the Godhead and to humanity and reason. It sees reason and revelation as compatible. Graham sees the links between the Egyptians, Hindus, Buddhists and most spiritual traditions and shows their common roots, beliefs and parallel traditions.
