Marianne Williamson

Marianne Williamson

Marianne Williamson is an expert in A Course in Miracles. Her best-selling book, A Return to Love is based on those teachings that no matter how wounded and fearful we are, love can create a miracle of restoration to wholeness. In her book she says, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…”

After dropping out of college she became a cabaret singer in New York. She believes in social compassionate action. Marianne founded Meals on Wheel, delivering daily meals to those suffering from AIDS. She has also run for public office and has advocated for a Department of Peace.

Her main teachings are reflected in her books;

♥ The top of a mountain is always the bottom of another.

♥ Spiritual principles do not change, but we do.

♥ I believe that hunger for a 'lost dimension' of experience is a natural yearning in all of us, and it doesn't go away just because we ignore it. It is evidenced among other places in the millions of children and adults who obsessively read the 'Harry Potter' books. It is said that fiction is where someone gets to tell the truth.

♥ The more room you give yourself to express your true thoughts and feelings the more room there is for your wisdom to emerge.

♥ The mortal mind alone cannot devise an answer to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, because the true answer lies on a level of consciousness that's beyond our mortal thinking. Quite simply, when it comes to Israel and the Palestinians, we need a miracle.

♥ If I just want to 'start a conversation,' I don't need to run for office. As a matter of fact, it could be argued that many people are more open to hearing you if you're not running for office.

♥ Spirit is impervious to illness.

♥ While women were powerfully liberated both externally as well as internally by the feminism of the 1970s, we made some serious mistakes as well.

♥ We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?
