Self-Forgiveness and Shame

Self-Forgiveness and Shame

Transformation is bringing what is hidden into awareness and feeling it. How do you really feel about yourself? Do you ever feel you are unworthy or unlovable? What lies beneath these feelings? Do you remember times when you made a mistake, forgot something important, broke a vow, crashed the car, lost your keys, got really angry, failed a test, got lost in addiction, told a lie? Were you filled with guilt and shame? Did this make you feel you were not good enough? And underneath all of it, is there sadness? Maybe some fear?

You are sufficient in your unique expression. Consciousness has created you to express through you. You have been conditioned that it should look a certain way. It should be neat and tidy, never messy. You have been under the false understanding that enlightenment is only bliss. Enlightenment is everything; the authentic Self and the drama, the mess, the joy, the birth, the death, the broken leg, the broken car, the broken vow, the broken heart. The mess leads you to the essential Self. It is all necessary.

Your conditioning has taught you that if it doesn’t look a certain way it is wrong, it is shameful, it is deserving of guilt. Your created self can never live up to other’s requirements, because it is never authentic. Embrace all that your life has been, is, and will be, as the perfect unfolding of your destiny and magnificence. If it isn’t loving, it isn’t true. The truth is you are love and all the mistakes were never mistakes. They were the perfect, leading you to the perfect.

When you know and feel this, you can forgive yourself and know your worth. Worth exists in your essential nature, not is performing in a certain way, not in living up to someone’s standard, not in following a certain path. When you know your Self, worth arises and self-forgiveness is possible on a vibrational level.
